Dear Brightly Benefactors,

I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the support you provide our clients. What for most people means just money, for many of our clients, knowing that you are there, gives them faith in other human beings. It helps them realise that people can not only let you down, but they can also help you to reach your goals. If people you don’t even know, consider you valuable and worthy, it might be that you deserve people’s kindness and generosity. Your support changes our clients’ perception of the world and themselves. Your work is greatly appreciated by me and the rest of the social workers I work with.

You have financially supported this YP on numerous occasions. This time, she was unsure of your response. Holidays are mostly regarded as a pleasure, but not considered a necessity.

This YP has not been on a holiday for over 4 years. She is working hard on a full time basis and it is expected that she will soon become a civil servant and able to afford her own bills and holidays. But presently, she is only earning just enough money to pay for her bills.

For this YP, this holiday is the opportunity to strengthen her relationship with her best friend. This is particularly important for her because she has always relied on her friends for emotional support as her family has never been available when she has needed them.
