Brightly turns 100 this year and the celebration’s are in full swing all through 2025! Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to so far:

Fly a Flag For Brightly

🎉A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has flown a Brightly flag over their building to help commemorate this milestone and raise awareness of our mission.

Special thanks to RBC, La Moye Primary School, Samares Manor, St Johns Church & Mark Seal 💙

We are deeply moved by the incredible show of support from across the island. Together, we're shining a light on the work that matters most. Here’s to the next 100 years. 🌟

Flower Displays - July 2025

🌸 A huge thank you to the amazing Parks & Gardens teams for creating the stunning flower displays at Howard Davis Park & West Park🌟

Your creativity and dedication have filled the park with colour and joy — a beautiful tribute that reflects the growth and potential in every child and young person we support. 💛💙 We’re truly grateful for your hard work in making the parks a place of beauty and remembrance.

If you have not seen the display yet why not pop along and check it out or plant your own yellow and blue flowers for Brightly and share your pictures!!!🐝🌸🪻🌼

Birthday Celebration at Government House!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us in June at Government House for our 100th Anniversary birthday party 💙

We’re so grateful for all the love, laughter, and energy you brought to the event — it was a truly magical afternoon, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark this special milestone.

Here are some of our favourite moments!

🍯 A Sweet Thank You! 💛 We’re buzzing with gratitude! 🐝

A heartfelt thank you to Jersey Honey who generously donated £1 to Brightly for every jar of honey sold in May, raising an amazing £182.11 to support vulnerable children and young people in our island community. 🌟

This thoughtful gesture carries on a sweet legacy — in 1946, Her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth gifted 840lbs of honey to the children of Jersey as a symbol of care and solidarity. 🍯👑

It’s wonderful to see that same spirit alive today. Thank you, Jersey Honey & Gelaires Nail Spa Jersey and everyone who bought a jar and helped make a difference! 💛

Brig-y-Don Reunion

Thank you to everyone who joined us in May for the Brig-y-Don reunion. What a truly memorable afternoon it was!

It was wonderful to see so many people connected with Brig-y-Don (past residents, donors, staff, ex-staff, board and ex-board members) come together to celebrate our 100th Anniversary. The shared stories, laughter and reflections made it a truly special occasion, reminding us of the lasting impact Brig-y-Don has had on so many lives.

We are so grateful to have had the chance to reconnect and celebrate all the memories and achievements that make this place so special.

Book Launch

As part of our 100th Anniversary celebrations, in March we commissioned a limited-edition children’s book called ‘The Unexpected Gift’, which was written by Penny Byrne. A free copy of the book was gifted to every child in Year 1 and Year 2; the book reached approximately 2,000 children across all primary schools on the Island.

The book focuses on three core elements: respect and responsibility, equality and diversity & money management.

Penny has done several book readings in schools over the last few weeks.
