From my point of view [Social Worker], I was very concerned about the amount of stress and pressure on the family; funding this arrangement [after school club] has taken some of that pressure off and given the family more time to make arrangements that work for them. I also feel much happier that the child concerned is no longer sitting at school waiting to be picked up after her friends have gone home and that school are no longer being put in the position of having to take responsibility for this child at a time when she should no longer be on school premises. I fully believe that this support has helped prevent the family going into crisis.
